Get a TX hunting license before hunting season

Texas is known the country over for the wonderful game that it offers. From duck, goose, turkey, whitetail deer to elk, varmint and exotic game you can find it all in the state. If you are a resident or a non-resident you would need a TX hunting license before you go hunting. Getting a TX hunting license is as simple as going to the Parker Lumber store anywhere in Texas and registering for a hunting license. You would need to provide identification information and the license fee. You can also opt to get your TX hunting license online. In this case the license will be mailed to you.

Texas has stringent hunting rules and regulations. The rules may differ from county to county and so it is a good idea to get a TX hunting license in the area you intend to hunt. It is a good idea to apply for TX hunting licenses well before the hunting season. This way you can beat the queues that are commonly found close to the start of hunting season. If you are getting your TX hunting license online then do ensure that you apply for it well in advance as it would take a few days for your license to arrive.

Types of hunting licenses

There are several types of TX hunting licenses including the resident hunting license and non-resident license. There is also a 5 day hunting license for non-residents who are in the state and intend to hunt only for a few days. You can also apply for this TX hunting license online.

Special resident hunting license is needed for residents below the age of 17 and those above 65 years of age. If you intend to hunt animals, birds, frogs or turtles you need to have a TX hunting license. Do remember to apply for the Migratory Game Bird Stamp if you intend to hunt birds such as doves. If ducks are what you are looking for, then ensure that you get a Federal Duck Stamp in addition to your hunting license. A license is not required to hunt coyotes, fur bearing animals and hogs causing depredation.

If you are a Texas resident who enjoys fishing and hunting then you may prefer to opt for a Super Combo. This license gives you hunting as well as a fishing license. It also offers five stamp endorsement for migratory game birds, saltwater fishing with red drum tag, fishing in freshwater and archery. The Super Combo is also cheaper than getting licenses separately.

Once you have your hunting license you will also require equipment that is just right for you. Whether you are a beginner or a veteran you will find all the equipment you need for your hunting or fishing expedition at the Parker Lumber store. The store carries a wide range of products for you to choose from.
